BHP KIDS

At Brooklyn Health and Performance we offer a training program for kids.

BHP Kids is structured in strength and conditioning classes specifically designed for kids and teenagers and helps them develop a lifelong pursuit of fitness.

In a group setting, children and teens participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well-rounded and athletic.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
BHP Kids is a unique fitness program for children.
Compared to team sports and other common fitness activities for kids, we specialize in movement and wellness.
Why is this important?
We have seen in recent years, as our young people become more sedentary or engaged with electronics, that their ability to move well is compromised.
If a young person cannot move well, they tend to move less often.
Wouldn’t you if running around became hard, or you felt like you had to bend against tight muscles? This can be very disheartening for the confidence of a child or teen.
That is why we seek to help them function, and then make them more strong and resilient. Building a resilient adaptable body sets your child up for future success, while building their confidence and self efficacy. In short, they will achieve things they previously could not, and physically can gain a sense of adventure.
Working with other youths, they can develop a sense of camaraderie that is often missed out on if a child does not like the conventional team sports atmosphere.

CREDENTIALS
Our program is based on the most recent scientific evidence for safe and effective  exercise in children
We follow the fitness and strength training guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics which  recommends strength training for kids 7 and up.
Our co-owner and board certified Pediatrician, Dr. Lucy Pontrelli has helped our Head Coach Tommy Ardito to design the program.
Our trainers are certified Youth Fitness Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Age 7 – 11   Tuesday and Friday @ 3:30-4.30PM

Age 12-15   Tuesday and Friday @ 3:30-4.30PM
